Anyone know how I can get Permission to remove a corrupt version of Avast
antivirus software from a Vista laptop, 32-bit? It shows in Uninstall a
Program but I get an error and it wont uninstall. Avast has no option to
Uninstall and the downloaded MS software called
MSfixit.ProgramInstalluninstall.RNP cannot remove it either. When I try to
manually remove it I get the Need Permission crap and cannot remove it
manually. How/where do I get this Permission to remove unwanted corrupt
software that even MS software can't uninstall? TIA.......

I know that Norton and McAfee provide uninstallers on their respective
web sites. I would suggest looking to see if Avast does the same.

If it's like the Symantec (Norton) site, it won't be easy to find, but
if you manage to dig it up it should be worth the effort.

You're welcome.

I see that David H. Lipman was kind enough to post an actual link, but
it's dated after your report :-)
